Overview
Xenitho crafts desktop robots that read as appliances, not toys. The founders owned working hardware and a waiting list — yet lacked a naming scheme, an app, and anything beyond a stopgap site of stock icons.
I shaped the brand platform, drew the companion app for both mobile systems from start to finish, and left a component library the engineers still extend today.
Challenge & approach
Robot UX stands or falls on confidence: pairing, calibration, and fault screens had to soothe even while hardware sulked. Twelve usability rounds on tappable prototypes preceded any finalised screen.
The visual tongue borrows from the machine itself — milled edges, signal-red flashes, open spacing — so handset and hardware feel like one product, not two suppliers.
Deliverables & outcome
Opening workshop to store submission inside ten weeks, with setup completion climbing across each beta wave.
Identity platform
Name polish, wordmark, icon family, and motion rules common to device and software.
Companion app UX
Pairing, steering, scheduling, and help journeys on both platforms — 68 screens, every one prototyped.
Design system
A token-driven parts library with engineer notes and versioned Figma masters.
